Halloween spirit at Northwest Schools’ Trunk and Treat with Taher Food Service

JACKSON, MI – At least a couple thousand participants turned out for what Northwest Community Schools is calling one of its largest Trunk and Treat events ever.

TNT Flyer Snap 1This year’s Trunk and Treat took place Saturday, Oct. 24, in the parking lot of the new Northwest Early Elementary School, 3737 Lansing Ave.

Children were able to “trick or treat” at 37 stations set up with plenty of Halloween treats.

Families also were able to enjoy a Candyland theme, as well as visits from Safety Pup, the Blackman-Leoni Township Public Safety Department, Northwest Community Schools Transportation Department and Bailey Excavating.

Food was provided by Northwest’s food service department.

TNT Flyer Snap 2Each year, Patti, Liz and our team helps organize a safe, family focused event to allow youngsters a way to receive candy and treats while celebrating a safe Halloween. Usually held the Saturday before Halloween, the community gathers and local business and organizations open their trunks in a school parking lot designed for trick and treating! This year was the largest with over 1,500 people attending!!!! Patti, Liz, Chrissy and other members of the food service team and other District and community people worked very hard to help organize this wonderful event for the children of Northwest Community Schools!!!!!
