Each day our team of foodservice employees prepare and serve over 3000 meals to students in our five schools, as well as prepare meals that are sent to two private schools in our area. It has been proven that students need good nutrition to feed their minds and bodies to enable them to learn during the school day. Our goal is to provide a high quality, safe, and healthy meal to every Shawano student while providing the best customer service possible.

Taher Inc. manages the Food Service Program on behalf of the school district. We are proud to serve you and will continue to work with students, parents and school administration to make your program the best it can be. Recognizing that good nutrition has a positive effect on learning and good health, the mission of the Food Service Department is to provide nutritious meals to students, staff and the community-at-large, in a caring and customer-friendly environment, using menus that emphasize:

 

Freshly prepared foods,

No trans-fats,

More whole grain and legumes,

Fresh fruit and vegetables,

Minimally processed foods, and

Decreased use of foods containing high-fructose corn syrup

Additionally, we commit to assist in educating our customers to adopt a more nutritious lifestyle.
