Senator Lena Taylor Visits
Shorewood High School

Shorewood School District welcomed Wisconsin State Senator Lena Taylor to the Shorewood High School campus to observe the National School Breakfast Program (NSBP). At breakfast, students and staff had the opportunity to discuss any topics related to the NSBP with Senator Taylor, and following breakfast, there was a short question-answer session with Senator Taylor and Shorewood administrators.

As part of the School Nutrition Association of Wisconsin’s (SNA-WI) “Take Your Legislators to Work” campaign, local state legislators are invited to observe school breakfast programs, and the Shorewood School District was selected as one of the Wisconsin districts.

The aim of this campaign is not only to strengthen and build relationships between members of SNA-WI and their state legislators, but also to allow legislators to witness first-hand the value of school nutrition programs and how a healthy breakfast puts students in a better position to succeed.
