Taher Food Service Helps Out With Northwest’s Annual Trunk Or Treat!

By Brian J. Smith

Little ghosts and ghouls of every sort showed up at Northwest Elementary School on Saturday Oct. 25 for the district’s annual Trunk or Treat event.

Patti Russell, director for Food Service at Northwest Schools, said she estimates that at least 2,000 people came to the event.

“The kids love it,” Russell said.

Different scenes were created by local companies and volunteers. B&G Trucking staged a fake crash scene, and the food service and maintenance department for Northwest Schools placed colored squares on the ground with lollipop poles to create a Candyland theme.

“It’s special for the community members that participate,” Northwest Schools Superintendent Geoff Bontrager said. “Because it truly brings the community together.”
