Chef Paul Booth cooking at A Taste Of Art fundraiser

Chefs in the Twin Cities do so much for charity. A day doesn’t go by without a restaurant being hit up for a silent auction donation, or a chef dinner for charity. In a couple weeks, I’m hosting an event with some of the Twin Cities’ most talented, and least-known chefs.

A Taste of Art is a fundraiser for the American Culinary Federation Minneapolis Chef’s Chapter’s Scholarship Chefs1Fund and Partnership Resources, Inc. ACF does so much to help young chefs get started-this event helps pay for scholarships. Partnership Resources is an incredible group that helps developmentally disabled adults get jobs.

PRI’s clients provide art-which you can buy at the event. The chefs provide the taste-a giant roomful of delicious food. You pay $65 (register online) and get an incredible dinner from chefs all over the area.

Some of the chefs cooking will be Executive Chef of Chianti Grill Angelo Montes, Corporate Chef for Taher, Inc. Paul Booth, and Gary Hjellming, pastry chef for Oark Ridge Conference Center & Hotel.

This year there also will be a student cupcake contest: Teams from Saint Paul College, Hennepin Technical College, Le Cordon Bleu College Minnesota, Minneapolis Community and Technical College, and Art Institutes International Minnesota will make 200 cupcakes, and a team of judges will pick a winner. Guests get to vote too. The winning team gets four $500 scholarships!

And there will be a live auction. You can bid on the chefs cooking at the event, catering a party at your house.
