Taher Executive Chef Simon Barrow awaits for the Do It Youself Network to remodel his kitchen. “My fiancée saw an advertisement about the DIY show I Hate My Kitchen and we decided to apply. The acceptance process was long, but I am glad that we got it,” Barrow said.

Some argue that the kitchen is one of the most important rooms in the house. One person who would probably agree with this statement is Executive Chef Simon Barrow. Barrow will be getting some much needed changes to his kitchen by the DIY Network show I Hate My Kitchen, allowing him to prepare food in the space he deserves.

I Hate My Kitchen is a reality television show that takes old kitchens and remodels them into brand new kitchens with elegant designs and more economically friendly appliances. Official remodeling began April 8, and construction is expected to last one month. The episode will air sometime in the fall.

“My house has been going through a series of remodelings.” Barrow said. He continues, “My fiancée saw an advertisement about the DIY show I Hate My Kitchen and we decided to apply. The acceptance process was long, but I am glad that we got it.” Many of the kitchen appliances are going to be eco-friendlier than the appliances Barrow has currently.

Even though the remodel is being done by the DIY Network, the recipients of the remodel are expected to pay for some of the work as well. According to Barrow, the entire kitchen will be torn down and everything will be replaced. Throughout the process, Barrow is expected to appear on camera to talk about how he feels about the progress.

Along with Barrow’s experiences in Asia, a new kitchen will bring new changes to his life, as well as the community he works in.
