Chef Christina Oswald
Since her formal training at a culinary school in 1990, Chef Christina’s passion for the culinary arts has kept her on the fast-track in her industry from positions in quaint restaurants to fine-dining supper clubs – all with catering venues. You get a sense of Christina’s sense of humor when she tells you that she learned large quantity cooking at the county jail. After a pause she smiles and says, “as an employee, not an inmate.”
Christina started her career in school food service when she joined Taher in 1997, and accepted the position at Merton School District, managing three schools and serving 1000 students. Her excellent leadership skills and drive to grow landed her the position of Food Service Director for Muskego-Norway Schools serving over 4800 students and managing and training 40 plus food service employees. Though she enjoyed managing, Christina never lost her passion for being in the kitchen. She was eager for opportunity to be Taher’s Regional Chef for Wisconsin, which she began in 2008. Her enthusiasm is contagious as she assists with new account openings and large catered events, and she awes customers with her On Display cooking of international cuisine at Taher-managed accounts. Christina thoroughly enjoys speaking to students about nutrition and careers in food service, and especially takes pleasure in showing them the fun side of food with her candy making and cake decorating workshops.
